Have you had a chance to read our latest blog yet? If you have, then you already know that there is a right and a wrong way to mow your lawn. At Mesa Turf Masters, we not only provide the best lawn care service in Vail, but we also want to help you to take better care of your lawn on your own! That is why we have come up with this list of the last few tips for mowing your lawn like a pro:
- Don’t mow in the heat- If it is too hot out when you mow, your grass could actually suffer from heat stress and consequently, so could you. Mow when it is cool out to prevent this from happening.
- Mow dry grass- Mowing wet grass can be dangerous, and it could also cause the grass to clump up in your lawn mower and cause frustrating clogs. If you mow when your grass is dry, it will be easier to cut and less likely to clog your mower.
- Alternate your mowing pattern- If you cut your grass in the same pattern every time, it could cause it to lean in one direction as it grows. By alternating your mowing pattern, you are encouraging your grass to grow straight!
- Don’t bag your clippings- Although those grass clippings may be annoying, you shouldn’t bag them, as they can actually be really good for your lawn. Clippings are full of vital nutrients that can help your lawn to thrive. This is called grass-cycling and it is a wonderful way to encourage healthy growth!
