#4. It makes weeding much more difficult.
Although it’s true that many people use landscape fabric to cut down on weed growth, it isn’t a miracle solution, and it won’t get rid of your weeds completely. When weeds are able to force themselves up through the fabric, the fabric makes it much more difficult to get rid of the weeds. In most cases, getting a weed out in these kinds of circumstances means that you will need to cut part of the fabric out.
#5. It contains chemicals.
Landscape fabric is made with petroleum and other nasty chemicals that could easily seep into the soil of your garden. There is a reason why many gardening and landscaping experts advise against using petroleum products around your plants. This is especially concerning if you are growing vegetables or fruit in your garden.
