At Mesa Turf Masters, we pride ourselves in offering the very best lawn care services in the Vail area so that we can help you to enjoy a beautiful, healthy lawn and garden. That is why, in our latest blog, we gave you a couple of reasons why you shouldn’t use landscape fabric. The following is a list of the last few reasons not to use landscape fabric in your garden or lawn:

#6. It makes reseeding nearly impossible.

As a gardener, nothing is more exciting or rewarding than watching your plants re-seed themselves when spring rolls around the next year. Unfortunately, landscape fabric makes this almost impossible.

#7. It prevents you from rearranging your garden.

Sometimes a plant doesn’t do well where you originally plant it or it grows over the sidewalk or interferes with another plant close by. In circumstances like these, it is helpful to be able to easily rearrange your garden, but unfortunately, landscape fabric makes this so much more difficult. Rather than simply digging up the plant and replanting it elsewhere, now you have to cut a hole in the fabric where you are digging it up and where you will be planting it again, patch the fabric when you are done and smooth the soil over once again.

#8. It takes lots of time and money to install.

Installing landscape fabric isn’t cheap, nor is it quick. It can be expensive, and it takes a whole lot of time and attention to detail in order to install it correctly.

Landscape fabric causes many more problems than it is worth. Luckily, you can get a much better result with mulch without all of the hassle and expense!
